Entry #13 - IKEA: Nothing you need, Everything you want

"I hope this thing comes assembled. I hate those flat boxes," (He) thought, as (His) mind filled with dread.

(She) passed the time striking up random conversations with IKEA employees. "So, like, exactly what kind of a discount do you get?"

Entry #12 - Profile

(He) thought his profile was quite inviting. Besides, hardly anyone would notice the fuzz on his face...

"Oh my god. What is that on my face?" (She) saw the photo and was horrified.

Worst. Profile. Pic. Ever.

Entry #11 - Aftermath

"Was (He) at least cute?" asked (Her) friend.
"I guess. I refused to talk to (Him) on principle." (She) wondered if (She) had made a mistake in ignoring (Him).

"You don't look so good," (He) said to (His) friend of many months.
"Very funny," (His) friend replied.
"Hey, I'm just saying. Don't be so sensitive…"

Entry #10 - It's a Setup

(She) didn't speak to (Him).
(He) didn't speak to (Her).

They realized it was one of those situations;

couple-friends being "helpful".

Entry #9 - Traveling Business

(She) always traveled in style.

(He) did not.

Entry #8 - Perhaps a Change of Scenery

Much like going out to dinner alone, this new holder felt both uncomfortable and lame. (She) confirmed what (She) already knew--change is a scary thing.

"Have those birds always been there?" (He) thought as (He) gazed at the wallpaper that had been there for over three years.

Entry #7 - Valentine's Day ≠ Single

"What really is the point of all this?" (He) thought to himself.

(She) looked forward to the 15th when candy was half-price.
