Entry #35 - Home Sweet Huh?

"I just love our new apartment!" (She) was overjoyed and so was (He).

"There's just one thing I've been meaning to tell you…" (She) said.

"I don't like the sound of that," (He) replied.

"Well? What is it?" All of sudden, (He) felt cold and clammy.

"I don't think my parents will like you," (She) said, rather bluntly.

"Huh." (He) said. "Well, I don't think MY parents will like you either!"

Entry #34 - Two Toothbrushes and a Chocolate Factory

"We're here!" (She) said.

"Yes," (He) said.  "Yes, we are. The question is, why?"

"What do you mean?" (She) asked.
"Two toothbrushes at a chocolate factory? That doesn't strike you as odd?" (He) replied.
"Meh," (She) shrugged.

Entry #33 - Apartments…The Hunt Is On.

"What do you mean it's too frilly? This container is so cozy and pretty! Oh, and the wallpaper is to die for!"

"I will die if I have to look at it every day," (He) said.

"Well, I like it," (He) said.

"Yes, sickly yellow-orange does compliment your blue," (She) said. "It doesn't mean I like it."

"Why not?"

"I'm not answering that."

Entry #32 - Cathedral Ledge, North Conway, NH

"I'm so sick of traveling," (She) said.

"We're almost there," (He) replied. "The view is amazing."

It better be. I'm unbelievably uncomfortable right now...

"You were right," (She) said.

"I was?"

"It is a wonderful view," (She) said and then (She) sighed. "Summer's almost over and than it's back to my lonely girl apartment..."

"Maybe we should look for an apartment together," (He) said.

"If you're kidding, I will totally push you off that ledge..."

"I'm not," (He) said. "And please don't."

Entry #31 - More Adventure Dating: Burke Bike & Brew Fest

"That does not look safe," (She) said.

"No. No, it does not," (He) said with hint of glee.

"I can't watch!" (She) squealed.

(He) was in awe.

"It's probably best you don't watch," (He) said.

"Why?"

"The landing is littered with parts,"

"What do you mean, 'parts?!'"

"Bike parts, helmet parts, people parts," (He) replied. "You know, 'parts.'"

(She) peaked and said
"Liar."

A big toothbrush nod to the brave Burke Mountain, Vermont Jumpers…
I was in awe…

Entry # 30 - MVTs Part 2: Island Time

"The Chilmark Lighthouse," (She) sighed. "It's so stunning…"

"I think there's naked people down there," (He) said. "No, really. Look! I swear."

"Classy," (She) muttered.

"That house is adorable!" (She) gushed.

"Maybe we'll have a house like that someday," (He) said.

"Really?"

"Sure. Why not?"

Huh, (She) thought. How about that.

They observed the gate in silence.

"And will our garden look just like this?" (She) asked. "And can we have a pool and a hot tub? Oh, and a skylight? I've always wanted a skylight. And radiant heat in the bathroom--it's a must."

(He) swallowed and stared at the flowers.

On the ferry ride home…

"That boat is so cool," (She) said.

"It's not a boat, it's a ship," (He) replied.

"You're totally freaking out about living together, aren't you?"

"Yes. Yes, I am."

"You want a do-over?"

(He) paused.

"No. No, I don't."

(She) smiled and watched the ship sail by.

Entry # 29 - MVTs Part 1: The Ferry Ride

"I'm so excited," (She) squealed. "I've never been to Martha's Vineyard before!"

"I think I should warn you," (She) said.

"Warn me about what?"

"I don't do well on boats. I'm a little nervous."

"Oh." (He) swallowed. "Uh, how are you feeling now?"

"Good!"

"Hey, um, was that a dorsal fin?" (He) asked.

"No." (She) gagged. "That was my breakfast."

"Thank god it's over! I'm not going back on that ferry ever again," (She) breathed.

"Yeah. Uh, we're going to need a bigger boat..."

Entry #28 - Big League Date

"Can you believe we're at Fenway?" (He) sounded giddy.

"No. I can not believe I'm at Fenway," (She) replied.  No one who knows me will believe I'm here either…

"This beer was how much?!"

"It's best that you don't know..."

"I don't get it. It's not like it's a Coach wristlet."

"Why? How much is whatever you just said?"

"It's best that you don't know..."

"I still can't get over the fact that we are looking right at the Green Monster!"

(She) looked and looked and looked and looked.
"Is that the mascot? 'Cause I've got nothing."

Entry #27 - Water, water everywhere

"Is that woman drowning?" (He) asked.

"No. She's not drowning! She's having fun! Let's do this!"

"Yeah, okay." (He) seemed hesitant.

"Ah, this is more my speed."

"You're kidding, right?" Sometimes (She) couldn't tell.

"Oh, my goodness! Those kids are adorable! I can't wait to have kids!" (She) gushed.

"Oh, look...they have a hot dog stand..." (He) replied.

Entry #26 - The Outdoor Type

"This isn't so bad. You said camping. I was thinking we were roughing it," (She) said.

"Um," (He) swallowed. "That camper belongs to our neighbor.
This is us."

"Oh."

(She) wondered if that bed & breakfast they passed had any vacancies.

"Is it really that bad?" (He) asked.

"I am so the outdoor type."(She) said. "I love not washing, sleeping on the ground, walking a half mile to the bathroom, killer insects, and campfire smoke in my bristles...love it."

Entry #25 - It's a Zoo

"Do you think elephants have toothbrushes?" (She) wondered.

(He) shuddered.

"Why is it just sitting there?" (He) asked.

"What's it suppose to be doing?" (She) responded.

"In the commercial it wears an afro and sings circus songs."

"Right."

Entry #24 - Bass Shop is Kicking

"There is a whale in the store," (She) said.

"I see it. How could I not see it? It doesn't even take up that much room..." (He) replied.

"It's looking right at us," (She) said nervously.

"It's not real," (He) replied.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Are those bass real?" (She) asked.

(He) sighed. "They're catfish."

"Whatever. Real?"

"Real."

"Really? In a store? Where the hell are we? It's like redneck Disney World in here."

"Hold me..." (She) said as she leaned in closer.

"Not. Real." (He) whispered in return.

Entry #23 - Head to the Beach

"So, how do you feel about the beach?" (He) asked.

"I'm fine with it. It's great. To look at."
As long as my bristles don't get wet.
(She) didn't want (Him) to know how badly (She) frizzed.

Entry #22 - A Gallery Show, a Drag Queen, and (Us)

"There is something very surreal about these paintings. They remind me of Salvadore Dali's work. There's no real sense of definitive space. It's very enjoyable to look at," (He) said.
(She) just looked at him and wondered where (He) had been (Her) whole life...

"OMG. We are posing with Miss Gay R.I. and her teeth are gawgeous!"

Entry #21 - May the Floss be with You

"What do you mean you don't know who 'that guy' is?"

(She) found his lack of Star Wars knowledge disturbing.

"OMG. We are right next to a real Stormtrooper!" (She) gushed.

"Uh, you know that's probably some code monkey in a suit, right?"

"Really? You can't just let me have this?"

"This must be Luke Skywalker…" (He) was proud of (His) intuition.

"No. It's not. But they are from the same planet, well, technically Luke is not from Tattoine, but…"

(He) could not believe (He) was dating a nerd and yet (He) found (Her) geek knowledge adorable. Odd, but adorable.

Entry #20 - Batter up

(He) was so excited to share one of his favorite pastimes.

As they gazed at the cotton candy sunset, (She) asked, "So, did anyone score a touchdown yet?"

Entry #19 - Are you going to Brimfield Fair?

(He) really liked (Her).

(He) just couldn't understand how (She) enjoyed looking at junk.

They regarded the large object of sweetness.
A snarky pun is around here somewhere…

Entry #18 - Adventure Dating

(He) couldn't believe (She) wanted to go to an event like this one...

(She) couldn't believe (She) enjoyed watching people in pain.

(He) wondered what else they had in common.
